The Ski and Winter Gear Sale

October 30, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

ski sale promo
The Ski and Winter Gear Sale, held annually by the Amherst Historical Society & Museum, returns on October 30, 2021 from 9 am – 2 pm, under the big tent at 67 Amity Street, with deals and choices so big – it is scary!
Shoppers can once again choose from a vast selection of new and used downhill, cross-country skis, ski poles, helmets, snowshoes, boots, skates, snowboards, outdoor clothing (including jackets, gloves, mittens, and hats) all in adult and youth sizes.  Great opportunity to update and treat the entire family to new winter gear affordably at this outdoor ski market.
Event organizer Bonnie MacCracken, a novice snowshoer, said, “I want to assure everyone that the pandemic has not disrupted our inventory. This one-day ski market  will be fully stocked, especially with children’s equipment, and offer great quality new and used winter gear and accessories at low prices, as we have for the last six years. It is a great opportunity to be ready and equipped with new skis, snowshoes, or warm clothing for when the ski resorts in Vermont begin opening in mid-November, or for having fun outdoors cross-country skiing or snowshoeing on our local scenic trails and conservation areas.
Need help finding the correct size or special gift items for the upcoming holiday season? No problem, ski experts with experience in down hill skiing and snowboarding will be on hand to assist with selection and sizing to ensure satisfaction. Board Trustee, Ann Tweedy, a skilled Nordic skier and hockey skater, stated “ Every year this ski sale gets bigger and better, the historical society is excited about transforming the grounds of the history museum, once again on Halloween weekend, into a safe outdoor ski market, located in downtown Amherst with lots of parking nearby.”
In reminiscing about the success and history of the ski sale, Board President, George Naughton, stated that trustees enjoyed welcoming lots of masked goblins, fairy princesses, and a few witches, as well as a dusting of snow last year, and we hope this year we have lots more of the same, especially more of the white stuff.”
Shop early for the best selection and sizes. Halloween costumes are encouraged, but masks will be required. All proceeds from the ski sale benefit the educational programs of the Amherst Historical Society. This is the historical society’s sixth year organizing this ski sale and is its largest fundraiser of the year. Cash and major credit  cards accepted.
The Amherst Historical Society (AHS) was founded in 1903 with a mission to connect people with the history and culture of the Town of Amherst. If you would like to volunteer to help at the ski sale or need more information email Bonnie at: bmaccracken@comcast.net.
